The latest news from Ron:-
The Shuttleworth is on with the usual proviso. We have to get lucky sometime.
Start at the Kings Arms. 10.00 am. or before, meet and greet. 10. 30 depart.
Back lanes to bypass Kendal and via Mealbank to A6 for Shap.
Shap village, gather in centre at car park and public toilets.
From Shap to Pooley Bridge then down west side of Ullswater through Glenridding and Patterdale and over Kirkstone Pass. We stop at the Kirkstone Inn car park for lunch.
From Kirkstone via Ambleside to Coniston. Yes we turn left on entering Ambleside.
From Coniston, we will go to Hawkshead and take the ferry to Bowness. From there we take the road through the Lyth valley back to Milnthorpe and the Kings Arms Journeys end. Well that part of it anyway.
Regards Ron Bentley
