The Ride
The route travels along minor and very minor roads and lanes, some gated, up hill and down hill, through the Peak District's widely varying scenery. Passing through quiet villages, dales, woods and moorlands, navigation is challenging! Riding is gentle and slow and Thruxtons may object! It is a good test of brakes, clutches and gearboxes.
Some awkward junctions crossing fast 'A' roads, need great care and attention. Other hazards include mud, gravel, sheep, loose cows, sharp hairpin bends, a tunnel and a ford!
People taking part in the Centre's activities do so at their own risk and everyone is responsible for their own safety.
The only petrol station/garage is available at start of run by the Unicorn. Tescos sell cheaper fuel and are located about 3 miles from the Unicorn, north next to the A34. Please note there are no petrol stations en route!! Riders must fill up before starting.
Large sections of the route have no mobile signal.
